From Malaysia to Paris: One Connected Production Journey

This September, QK Group deployed a content creator from Malaysia to Paris, France, supporting Amelia Henderson during her experience with CHANEL. The four-day assignment, from 15 to 18 September 2026, extended far beyond the person carrying the camera. Back in Malaysia, the wider production team supported the project from logistics and coordination through to media management, post-production and final delivery.

For us, that connected production model is what makes Paris an important milestone. It demonstrated how a lean crew working thousands of kilometres away could remain part of the same production operation at home.

One Creator in Paris, a Full Production Team at Home

One content creator travelled with the programme in Paris, focused on following Amelia's experience across different activities, locations and environments.

Behind that creator was a much larger support structure in Malaysia.

Before departure, the home team coordinated travel arrangements, accommodation, equipment preparation, schedules and production requirements. That support continued throughout the assignment, giving the creator onsite the freedom to concentrate on what mattered most: understanding the flow of each day and capturing the right moments as they happened.

Creating Content Around the Talent

This was different from conventional event coverage.

The objective was not to document an entire event from beginning to end. The focus was Amelia's experience and the moments happening around her throughout the programme.

That requires a more agile approach to content creation. A creator travelling alongside talent needs to remain mobile, understand the environment quickly and recognise opportunities that may only exist for a few seconds.

Some moments can be anticipated. Others happen naturally between scheduled activities.

The creative challenge is to bring those individual moments together into a consistent visual story. Behind-the-scenes interactions, personal experiences, brand moments and the atmosphere of Paris all contribute to how the wider journey is eventually presented.

For this type of assignment, being technically prepared is important. Being observant is equally important.

An International Production Begins Before Departure

The production started well before the first frame was captured in Paris.

International assignments introduce another layer of operational planning. Flights, accommodation, local transportation, baggage allowances, equipment selection, media storage and communication all have to be considered before the crew leaves Malaysia.

When only one creator is deployed onsite, preparation becomes even more important. Every unnecessary operational issue takes attention away from the creative work. The role of the home production team is therefore not secondary to the shoot. It is part of the production itself.

By handling the logistics and coordination behind the scenes, the team in Malaysia helped create a working environment where the onsite creator could concentrate on the assignment rather than the mechanics surrounding it.

From Paris Into Our Home Workflow

Capturing content is only one stage of the process.

Once footage begins to accumulate overseas, it still needs to move into the wider production operation efficiently. Files need to be organised, handed over and prepared for the next stage without creating unnecessary delays between the person capturing the content and the team responsible for completing it.

This is where our internal Workspace workflow becomes part of the production.

Workspace was developed around the way our own crews, editors and production team move files between different stages of a project. For an international assignment, that same workflow helps connect the creator in the field with the team working from home.

Instead of treating the Paris shoot and Kuala Lumpur post-production as two separate operations, the project could continue as one connected workflow.

The location of the camera changed. The production process did not.

When the Shoot Wraps, the Production Continues

The final shooting day is rarely the end of a content production.

Once the material has been captured, it needs to be organised, reviewed and transformed into the final piece. Editors need access to the right material, the footage needs to move through post-production and the finished content still needs to be prepared for delivery.

For the Paris assignment, the production team at home remained involved after the onsite coverage ended.

The material captured in France moved into the post-production workflow in Malaysia, where the next stage of the project continued through editing and final delivery.

This continuity is important to how we are building our production operation. The handover from field production to post-production should not feel like one project ending and another beginning. It should feel like one team continuing the same job.

From Malaysia to Paris

The significance of this project was never about the size of the travelling crew.

It was about seeing how the wider production operation could function across borders while remaining connected from preparation through to final delivery.
